Route No. 16: Through the Hamlets

Departure from the village square: Follow the road to the left along the intercommunal hospital. After 150 m, go down the steps on the left towards: [Le Pontet 0.3 km]. Turn right. Continue on the D5 on your right until the junction.

Le Pontet: [Joannas 3.9 km] Cross the hamlet of Mourier and continue on the road to Vermale. In the bend, go up the paved path on your right and continue on the trail. At the crossroads, go straight on along the "draille". At the road, turn left, then go through the hamlet of Champ Clos, keeping left. 300 m after the last house, take the path that climbs to the right and descends among pines and oaks. Follow the shaded trail along the vineyards to reach Vermalette. Join the hamlet by the road on the right, go under the houses and follow the vineyards for a few metres. Take the "draille" on your right that descends and then climbs among green oaks. Continue climbing behind the caravan on a steep path. You will reach a track, turn left to reach the road. Follow the D24 left for 150 m and turn right towards Chabrolin. After 400 m, take the path on the left along the vineyards, then turn right.

La Sauzède: [Largentière 6.3 km] At the fork, go left. This shaded path descends to Chalabrège. Cross the hamlet then follow the road to the left for a few metres before returning to the trail to the Chambons hamlet. Go down past the houses and continue on the path ahead. Then follow the road to your left until you reach the D5. Turn right and 50 m later, turn left.

Bastide: [St Joseph Chapel 1.3 km, Chassiers 2.4 km] From here, follow the yellow and white markings. At the junction, turn left. Follow the cobbled path to Coulens. Cross the hamlet then continue to the right.

St Joseph Chapel: [ND de Bonne Rencontre 3.6 km, Rocher 7.1 km] After 500 m, leave the road and take the path on the right.

Les Combes: [ND de Bonne Rencontre 3.1 km, Rocher 6.7 km] Cross the hamlet and continue on a wide path. At the crossroads, take the right path. This trail crosses vineyards before descending. A little further on, you can see a rock shelter above.

ND de Bonne Rencontre: [Le Vaure 1.9 km, Rocher 3.5 km] At the junction, continue straight. At the road intersection, turn left, then take the first right. Take the cobbled path that climbs on your left just before the large gate. Cross the hamlet of Joux:

[Le Vaure 1.5 km, Rocher 3.1 km]. The path climbs to the Virgin of Ranc Courbier.

Continue in the same direction.

Le Vaure: [Rocher 1.6 km] Continue descending.

Champ Blanc: [Rocher 1 km] Take the path descending on the right. At the road, turn left.

Le Pontet: [Rocher 0.5 km] Retrace your steps.
